A major change in the city of Cibolo’s summer schedule is ready to go for 2025.

At the April 8 Cibolo City Council meeting, Communications Manager Jeanette Gonzalez laid out the 2025 special events schedule for the city, including the combination of Cibolo Summer Nights and Cibolo Market Days.

The specifics

Cibolo Summer Nights—a monthly entertainment event from May to August—had a change in its schedule for the final two events of 2024. The event also included vendors from Cibolo’s Downtown Market Days, moving from Main Street between Pfeil Road and Loop 539 to the Cibolo Multi-Event Center. Gonzalez told council this plan will continue for 2025 events, citing an increase in participation and vendors as reasons for the move.

Cibolo Summer Nights kick off May 2 with a Touch A Truck theme. Council member Donetta Roberts asked Gonzalez if vendors were accepting of a move from Market Days occurring Saturday mornings to the Friday evening timeframe.

“I know Saturday mornings [are] when so many people are expecting [Market Days] to happen,” Roberts said. “People can’t necessarily get off work, especially if you’re doing a craft ... and be over there to set up as you’re needing on Friday night.”

In response, Gonzalez said that Parks Superintendent David Howard sent out a survey to vendors, receiving positive feedback due to increased attendance. Vendors were also given extra time to set up before the Friday events due to the timeframe, Gonzalez said.

This plan will stay in place for 2025, with room to adjust based on feedback from the May 2 event, Gonzalez told Community Impact.

One more thing

Gonzalez also proposed combining the city’s annual tree lighting and holiday parade events later this year, however this part of the 2025 events schedule is still to be determined via more feedback from council and parks and recreation, Gonzalez told Community Impact.
