Fiesta Patria: La Calera

Evening Bat Flights


Watch some of the last bat flights of the season at the Bracken Cave Preserve. Participants will be able to see the largest colony of bats in the world at full flight just before the sun goes down at the cave. Preregistration is required.

'Legally Blonde'

The Texas Legal Services Center is organizing a screening of "Legally Blonde" to help spread awareness of legal justice. All proceeds will go toward civil legal services in the San Antonio area and beyond.

WatchTower 40th Anniversary Tour: San Antonio Metal Night

Head to Fitzgerald’s to experience the 40th anniversary tour of progressive metal band WatchTower as they power through a setlist full of heavy riffs and thrashing melodies. The event is for ages 21 and older.5 Mile Hike

Head to Phil Harberger Park to hit the trail with a hike through the wildlife preserve, where participants will hike the perimeter of the park and over the Robert L.B. Tobin Land Bridge. Hikers should meet at the dog park near Dutch Bros. Coffee.

Selma Fire Department Citizens Fire Academy

Participants will learn essential fire safety skills from professional firefighters. The academy will provide weekly hands-on training, including live fire extinguisher training, driving a fire truck and CPR certification. The CPR certification will be held Sept. 27.

Real Life 5K/10K

This unique event invites runners and walkers to race on the same turf as the horses at Retama Park. All proceeds from the event will benefit Real Life Community Outreach, a nonprofit dedicated to food assistance, vocational training and youth programs in underserved neighborhoods. Dogs and strollers are not allowed.

Lane Bricker Band


This 21-and-over event will feature a live performance by Texas country group Lane Bricker Band. General admission seating will be first-come, first-served. Free parking will be available at the venue.Paws in the Pool

Attendees can take their four-legged friend for a swim with a two-dogs-per-person limit. All dogs must be on a leash outside the pool facility and wear a collar that they can swim in. All owners must show proof of up-to-date rabies vaccinations at the gate and clean up after their dogs. Lawn chairs and dog toys are allowed.
