North East ISD receives C accountability rating from state

North East ISD received a C rating for accountability from the Texas Education Agency for the 2022-23 school year.

The background

The ratings were released April 24 after a two-year delay. TEA could not release the ratings sooner due to a lawsuit involving more than 50 districts, including North East ISD, Northside ISD and San Antonio ISD. The lawsuit argues that the TEA changes to the rating system would unfairly lower the district’s ratings despite potential improvements in student performance.

Northside ISD approves 2025 summer school programs

During its March 25 meeting, the Northside ISD board of trustees voted to approve the 2025 summer school program.

North East ISD to implement P-Tech Programs, bolstering post-secondary programs

During its April 14 meeting, the North East Board of Trustees heard a presentation from district officials on the process of transitioning magnet programs to the Pathways in Technology Early College High School Programs, which add additional pathways to post-secondary degrees and industry-based certifications.

P-Tech programs are designed for students to earn both a high school diploma, and an associate’s degree or work-based certification.

NEISD to cut over 100 bus stops for 2025-26 school year


In a unanimous vote, the North East ISD Board of Trustees approved a series of transportation adjustments for the district’s bus schedule for the 2025-26 school year during its April 14 meeting.
