The 60-unit property—located at 264 Loma Vista St., New Braunfels—changed its name following a change in ownership in March. The property was previously owned by a New Braunfels local and is now owned by an Austin-based real estate group focused on affordable housing solutions for workforce tenants.
Silver Oaks Villas will continue to operate as a 55+ senior living community but will be receiving a series of renovations which began immediately upon purchase.

Property renovations are anticipated to be completed by the end of the summer and will consist of cosmetic improvements throughout the complex. There will also be new amenities like a movie room, library, on-site salon, coffee bar, laundry room and outdoor area with barbecue pits.
“It’s a lot of beautification of the property and trying to enhance the tenant experience in a big way,” Cohen said.
Units will also receive upgrades like new light fixtures and flooring.
Silver Oaks Villas offers one-bedroom, one-bathroom units that are 600 square-feet along with select two-bedroom units that are 1,200 square-feet. Units are priced between $1,100 to $1,450.
