Texas-based architecture and interiors firm Kirksey Architecture officially broke ground on new 23-acre mixed-use development known as Fulshear Central July 25, officials announced in a news release.
Katy ISD trustees voted 4-3 to opt out of the program on July 28, while Lamar CISD trustees voted unanimously June 17 to opt in, limiting the offerings to athletic extracurriculars for homeschoolers who are residentially zoned to the district.
At a July 22 meeting, Fort Bend County commissioners tabled an item to authorize the court to hire legal counsel to assist with “carrying out its responsibilities that do not conflict with the authority of the Fort Bend County Attorney,” following Precinct 2 commissioner Grady Prestage questioning the need for the extra counsel.
Corpus Christi Republican Rep. Todd Hunter, who filed the redistricting plan on July 30, said 37 of Texas’ 38 congressional districts would be redrawn “to some degree,” with the primary changes “focused on five districts for partisan purposes.”
