“Together, we are building the foundation for students to pursue rewarding careers while helping local employers meet the growing demand for a skilled workforce,” Mary Hensley, chancellor of the Blinn College District, said in the release.
The framework
The new complex, named the Waller Workforce and Technical Education Complex, will sit on Binford Park Road with more than 80 parking spaces. The facility will feature the following:
- Three lecture classrooms
- Computer learning lab
- Medical learning lab
- Mechatronics/advanced manufacturing lab
- Skilled trades lab
- Faculty and staff offices
“By working closely with employers and tailoring our programs to meet their needs, we are equipping students with the skills they need to succeed while helping drive the region’s continued growth,” Jay Anderson, vice chancellor for applied sciences, workforce and economic development, said.
