The Woodlands Children's Museum officials said the museum is celebrating its 15th anniversary with an event featuring a musical performance on July 12.

“The Woodlands Children's Museum is dedicated to fostering magical and memorable experiences for countless children and families within our community and beyond,” Executive Director Angela Colton said.

The impact

Located in the Panther Creek Shopping Center, The Woodlands Children's Museum has served over 60,000 visitors a year, officials said.

“Through our diverse exhibits carefully determined with play being foremost, engaging floor programming encouraging joyful exploration and the many creative art projects and their many processes celebrating art and culture, we cultivate a safe and intimate environment ideal for play-based learning among children,” Colton said.

Over the years The Woodlands Children's Museum has hosted magic shows, marionette puppets, cultural dancing and musical presentations, STEM programming, traveling exhibits featuring characters like Clifford the Big Red Dog, Curious George and more.

What else?

The Woodlands Children's Museum also celebrates Donald Duck’s birthday, International Fairy Day, Diwali, Lunar New Year, Mardi Gras, Dads, Dinos and Donuts, Super Hero Day and other occasions.

To further educate children the museum founded a preschool program known as Wonderseum with a Reggio Emilia-inspired curriculum for 4-year-olds in 2020.

“The staff of professionals implementing this program are so inspiring for us and we are so grateful to the growth we are able to observe in the children attending as they graduate and move on to kindergarten," Colton said.
