Professions Performing Arts, a dance studio in Spring, celebrated its 25-year anniversary this year, owner Michelle Thiry confirmed.

At a glance

The dance studio offers both recreational and competitive dance training for all ages in styles such as ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary and hip-hop. The studio also offers programs such as summer classes and theater camps.

“Progressions is about teaching, it's about technique, it's about all the different styles; and we don't just go in and learn a dance, we go in and learn technique and then when it comes time for a performance, they have this beautiful technique,” Thiry said.

Thiry said because of the studio’s emphasis on technique, it has had a history of students go on to dance professionally.

The inspiration

Thiry said the most exciting thing to her as an owner is watching the dancers grow within the studio’s walls, especially when she sees 2-year-olds take the stage for the first time.

“The next thing you know, they're out there doing their little performance and they're smiling and and you know they've got their confidence,” Thiry said. “It's watching them fall in love with dance.”

Thiry said the studio will celebrate its 25-year anniversary throughout the entire year.
