Sewer mains and manholes throughout the city of Friendswood will soon undergo $1.2 million in repairs.

What you need to know

Friendswood City Council voted unanimously at its June 2 meeting to award a $1.2 million for repairs to sewer mains and manholes throughout the city, according to agenda documents.

The contract will go to Pasadena-based PM Construction & Rehab, documents show.

The contract was authorized through the HGACBuy cooperative purchasing program and will repair the sewer mains and manholes, primarily using trenchless technology to minimize disruption.

HGACBuy is a cooperative purchasing program that helps cities and nonprofits purchase products and services through competitively bid contracts, allowing them to save time and money, according to the Houston Galveston Area Council’s website.

The contractor will conduct closed-circuit television inspections to identify additional failing sewer lines and manholes, according to agenda documents.

One more thing

The work is funded from the prior year's unused water and sewer working capital and funds included in the fiscal year 2025 adopted water and sewer fund operating budget, according to agenda documents.
