Friendswood ISD’s board of trustees at its July 14 meeting approved the 2025-26 handbook campus supplements, which include the district’s new cellphone policy and updated food delivery rules for Friendswood Junior High School.

The gist

Notable changes in all campus handbooks include:
  • FISD’s new cellphone policy, which includes the implementation of YONDR pouches—magnetic lockable phone pouches—during the school day
  • restriction of food deliveries at Friendswood Junior High, which is similar to Friendswood High School’s policy that prohibits food delivery during school hours
The handbook supplements are being used as the 2025-26 student code of conduct, and official handbooks are not yet updated to reflect recent legislation, according to district documents.

The handbook supplements approved for each campus can be viewed here:The official cellphone policy for FISD notes YONDR pouches will be used for sixth and 12th graders, and “does not allow students to use or possess personal cell phones or other electronic devices, specifically AirPods and smart watches, for any reason during the instructional day.”
