Two-minute impact
Dickson, who has served with the nonprofit since 2009, was honored with the Hometown Hero Award at the Greater East Montgomery County Chamber luncheon on June 4. The award was accompanied by presentations from the offices of U.S. Rep. Dan Crenshaw, R-Kingwood, and Montgomery County Precinct 4 Commissioner Matt Gray proclaiming June 4 as Pam Dickson Day.
Quotes of note
- "It's just overwhelming, I just feel so grateful to all of you," Dickson said during the award presentation. "I've been with Mission Northeast now for 19 of the 30 years that Mission Northeast has been in existence so leaving it, of course, is greatly emotional to me. I'm not really retiring so much as renewing, refreshing, reinventing myself ... so I will be seeing y'all."
- "Pam ... you have been such a staple in this community," Gray said during the award presentation. "Thank you for helping all the people who sometimes are unable to help themselves. Making sure they have clothes on their back, food in their bellies—all the little kids and the older people and people that just needed you—you were there. Thank you for touching this community."
