An assistant principal at New Caney ISD’s Dogwood Elementary School will lead the campus as principal in the 2025-26 school year, which begins Aug. 6.

Michelle Kale was approved for the principal position by the district’s board of trustees during a May 19 meeting. Kale will be replacing Sheri Lowe as principal, according to Dogwood Elementary’s website.

“This school holds a special place in my heart, and I look forward to continuing our strong tradition of academic excellence, inclusivity and community connection,” Kale said via a NCISD news release.

According to the news release, Kale has 10 years of experience in education, including her past positions as a:
  • Teacher and media specialist at NCISD
  • Paraprofessional at Liberty ISD
Kale worked as a military police officer in the U.S. Navy before beginning her career in education, according to the release. She also has a bachelor of science in business finance from Lamar University and a master of education in teaching English to speakers of other languages from Sam Houston State University.
