Voters in the Katy-Fulshear area have one final chance to weigh in on several state and local races Nov. 4.

On the ballot

Several state and local races, including school district and emergency service district propositions, are on the November ballot.

Lamar CISD voters will decide on the district’s $1.99 billion bond, which includes four propositions for new campuses, stadium improvements, technology refresh and student devices, Community Impact reported.

Meanwhile, residents in the Fulshear Simonton Fire Department service area will have an additional ballot proposal to allow the department to collect a 2% sales and use tax, in addition to the state’s 6.25%.


Additionally, voters statewide will have the opportunity to weigh in on 17 proposed state constitutional amendments. The amendments center around issues such as reducing property taxes and funding water supply projects. To view all 17 propositions, click here.

Where to vote

Election Day is Nov. 4, with voting locations open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m., according to the Texas Secretary of State’s website. Harris County voters can choose from any of 600 polling locations, according to the county’s website.

Meanwhile, Fort Bend County voters can cast their ballot at any of the 82 locations countywide on Election Day, according to the county's website.


However, Waller County voters must vote within their respective voting precincts on Election Day. To see election precincts, click here.

Voters should bring at least one of seven forms of appropriate identification options to the polls, such as a Texas driver's license, personal ID card, handgun license, military ID card or U.S. passport, according to the Texas Secretary of State’s website.

By the numbers

Harris County saw a total of 212,104 in-person and mail ballot votes cast during the early voting from Oct. 20-31, according to the county clerk’s office. The county’s voter registration department found that more than 2.5 million people are registered voters in the county.


Meanwhile, Fort Bend County saw 31,006 voters cast their ballots in person during the early voting period, with additional ballots cast by mail, according to early voting statistics from Fort Bend County. Early voters represented nearly 5.53% of the county's 560,979 registered voters.


Additionally, Waller County saw a total of 2,978 in-person and mail ballot votes cast during the early voting period, according to data from the county.
