Harris County residents looking to renew their passports without needing an appointment can visit a new office in Houston's East End that replaces the existing walk-in passport services offered at the county's downtown civil courthouse.

The downtown location will still process passport services by appointment only, according to Harris County District Clerk Marilyn Burgess. She said the new office for walk-in services is located in a building with convenient parking on site.

The details

The new office opened in May and is located on the first floor at 5900 Canal St., Houston. Burgess said in a news release that her passport staff processed more than 3,600 applications in 2024.

"I am confident this new office will be an added value to the many useful services the District Clerk's Office provides in our community," Burgess said.
