Taiwan-based Foxconn has acquired the Fairbanks Logistics Park, a 1,026,609-square-foot Class A industrial campus located near Beltway 8 and Hwy. 249, according to a June 5 news release from the Dallas-based real estate investment firm Dalfen Industrial.

The details

The Greater Houston Partnership recently reported Foxconn is investing $450 million in the project, which will bring 600 jobs to the region. The company is expanding production lines to build an AI server, according to the GHP.

Foxconn was founded in 1974 and manufactures electronics for companies including Apple, which announced plans earlier this year to build a 250,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Houston.

"As more companies look to onshore operations, Houston’s strategic location, infrastructure and workforce will continue to attract high-tech investment, diversifying the local economy and reinforcing global competitiveness," Craig Rhodes, senior vice president of economic development for the GHP, said in a March 12 interview with Community Impact.

Quote of note

“This transaction underscores the accelerating demand for U.S.-based industrial infrastructure to support advanced manufacturing and supply chain resilience. As more companies reevaluate their logistics and production strategies, we see continued opportunity in delivering well-located, institutional-quality assets that align with the evolving needs of global manufacturers,” Dalfen president and CEO Sean Dalfen said in the release.
