Blakelock has more than 20 years of experience in education and public service, and she has been the Conroe ISD director of communications for over 10 years, according to WISD post on social media.
In that role, she managed messaging, oversaw districtwide communication platforms and developed community engagement initiatives, according to the post.
Blakelock told Community Impact in a 2023 interview she also worked with printing and graphics services for the district.

Blakelock earned her Doctor of Education degree in professional leadership from the University of Houston. She has worked with organizations such as Leadership Montgomery County, the Montgomery County Leadership Summit and the Montgomery County Community Foundation.
