What you need to know
The city is launching a new quarterly engagement series called Let’s Talk About It, with the first event scheduled for May 14 at the Johnnie Arolfo Civic Center, 400 W. Walker St., League City.
The May 14 workshop will run from 6-8 p.m. and focus on permitting and code compliance, according to the city’s website.
During the event, city staff will offer a short presentation and a Q&A session where attendees can ask questions about city procedures, officials said. Light snacks and refreshments will be available.
Topics will include common permits needed for home repairs and renovations, how to vet contractors, typical code violations and how residents can report concerns. Staff will also explain the consequences of failing to obtain permits or resolve code violations, officials said.
Looking ahead
Future Let’s Talk About It events will continue quarterly, with each session focusing on different city services, according to an April 28 announcement from the city.
