A new fire station is being built to serve eastern Celina.

Officials broke ground on Fire Station No. 4 during a ceremony Nov. 19.

The details

Crossland Construction is building the new fire station for about $11.4 million.

The station will be about 15,725 square feet when completed on a 2-acre plot of land within the city’s emergency services campus. The emergency services campus is also home to the Celina Police Department Headquarters.

The fire station is set to include:
  • Three bays for fire trucks
  • A training tower
  • Individual dorms
Fire Station No. 4 cost about $815,000 to design.

What they’re saying

Fire Chief Shawn White said at the groundbreaking ceremony that the new station will be able to house 11 firefighters and allow them to reach a target response time of about six minutes.

“The addition of Fire Station 4 will greatly enhance our ability to provide more effective emergency services,” White said.

City Council member Brandon Grumbles said the groundbreaking was about more than a new building.

“It’s about the people,” he said. “This new facility will serve as a cornerstone to our fire department's operations, helping to improve response times, expand capabilities and ensure that help is always close by when it's needed the most.”

The fire station could be completed by late 2026, officials said.
