Celina City Council approved a development agreement at a July 8 meeting, which includes 125 additional single-family homes in a development called Glen at Uptown.
The details
Madhuri Mohan, Celina’s planning director, presented the development to the council at the July 8 meeting.
The development will be 41 acres, which will be annexed from the city’s extraterritorial jurisdiction as part of the project. Builder Perry Homes will build the homes as part of the residential development.
“It's a new neighborhood so it does not conflict with our long-range plans,” Mohan said.
The Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously recommended approval of the development plans at its May meeting.
What else?
There are several neighborhoods in Uptown Celina that will see residential growth.
The Ranch at Uptown has yet to open but it will include:
- more than 1,000 home sites
- two amenity centers
- green space
- water features
- an onsite elementary school
