NEF awarded 33 teaching grants totaling $90,918, according to a district news release. The funds for the grants will go toward a number of projects, including in literacy, STEM and special education, according to the district.
Some projects to be funded include titles such as:
- "Algae Beads: Testing Photosynthesis and Cellular Respiration"
- "Life Skills Reading Center: Building Literacy Through Accessible and Engaging Resources"
- "From Pencils to Published: 3rd grade authors in action"
- "If You Give a Student a Decodable"
- "Literacy for All"
- "Learning to Use an Air Fryer: A Hands-On Cooking Project"
O’Donnell will use the awarded grant to do a gardening project with students to develop fine motor skills, according to the release.
