City Council approved plans for the addition of 45 parking spaces in a gated area across from the baseball complex located at Grapevine Lake.
Pavecon was awarded the contract for $275,755 during the Dec. 16 meeting. Parks and Recreation Director Chris Smith said the plan is for the work to start this winter and be done before the spring season, which starts in March.
The detail
The new parking lot will support large events at Oak Grove Baseball Complex. The gated structure will have 45 secured spots and will be used for softball and baseball events, Smith said.
The gated portion will incorporate stone columns and wrought-iron fencing that matches the architectural style of the baseball complex.
The existing lake parking and natural grass area will be separated by closely spaced boulders where outdated pipe-rail has been replaced to create a more natural theme, according to city documents.
The existing lake parking lot and the entirety of Minnow Loop will get new sealant. Striping of fire lanes and parking spaces will take place in both existing and new parking lots, according to city documents.
This is the second such upgrade coming to Oak Grove Baseball Complex. A $1.03 million turf renovation was approved at the Dec. 2 council meeting.
