The Fort Worth-based airline announced it will launch a limited-time service between Dallas Fort Worth International Airport and Zurich, Switzerland, and offer expanded summer services to and from Buenos Aires, Argentina, according to a news release issued Aug. 7.
The 2026 World Cup will be hosted in the United States, Mexico and Canada from June 11 to July 19. The first game at AT&T Stadium in Arlington will June 14, according to the FIFA website.
Seasonal services will start May 21 and run through Aug. 4 between DFW Airport and Zurich Airport, offering nonstop flights, according to a news release.
American Airlines currently operates winter-seasonal service to Ezeiza-Ministro Pistarini Airport in Argentina but will start summer season services May 21 to Aug. 3 with four weekly flights, according to a news release.
By the numbers
Single-game match tickets have not gone on sale yet, but the FIFA website listed seating and hospitality options ahead of the nine games that will be played in Arlington.
FIFA hospitality packages provide premium seating, exclusive entertainment and upscale food and beverages from private suites or shared lounges, according to the website.
Options include single-game, two-game, four-game, eight-game or Follow My Team packages in any venue in North America. However, this is currently not available for United States, Canada and Mexico teams.
Prices at “Dallas Stadium” in Arlington start at $2,350 per ticket and go up to $3,150 per ticket, according to the FIFA website. Single-game tickets go on sale Sept. 10, according to FIFA.
The tickets include seats to five group stage matches; two in the Round of 32, one in the Round of 16 and one of the two semi-final matches.
According to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, AT&T Stadium underwent a $180 million renovation over the past two years for to update the premium clubs and suites.
What else?
The Dallas FIFA World Cup organization announced that the volunteer applications website opened Aug. 11 on social media.
To be eligible to volunteer for the World Cup, candidates must be 18 years old at the time of the application; speak English; commit to eight shifts and be available for the duration of the tournament; attend pre-event training sessions and complete training; comply with entry requirement for the host country; and pass a name and background check, according to the website.
Volunteers will receive an official FIFA World Cup volunteer uniform; exclusive rewards and recognition items; meals and refreshments during shifts and a certificate, according to the volunteer website.
