The details
Tony Strehlow, his wife, Debbie, and son, Connor, are the new owners of the business as of April 1.
Tony Strehlow said the plan for a grand opening of a renovated ice cream store will be May 30—the same day a ribbon cutting will be held with the Metroport Chamber.
For Tony, this is a post-retirement venture after 40 years in the energy business, he said.
What's next
There will be some changes when the store reopens. Tony Strehlow said there will be a new booth, the patio has been renovated and ceiling fans will added. At some point this summer, he hopes to add a drop shade to the patio and have a corn hole game next to the it.
The ice cream will stay the same, but there will now be homemade waffle cones and protein smoothies on the menu. Strehlow said he is looking for a business partner who would be interested in running the smoothie portion of the business.
