The backstory
During the Northwest ISD board of education meeting on April 21, owners Maria and Miguel Boscan were presented with the Aramark Local Restaurant Row Award Winner certificate.
According to Northwest ISD officials, they are one of 16 winners of the Aramark award from across the country. It's part of a program where local restaurants and food vendors, often food trucks or restaurants that cater, who periodically offer their food in schools.
“One of my favorite aspects of being on campus is witnessing how every day transforms into a rewarding experience,” Maria Boscan said in a news release from Aramark. “We are in a vibrant and energetic environment. What I enjoy the most is seeing the children's faces light up with joy when they try our product. We've managed to make children eat fruit not because they have to, but because they truly enjoy it. This fills us with happiness, as we're contributing to a positive change in their eating habits.”
