A new electric vehicle service and sales center is expected to be built in Frisco.

A Rivian service and sales center is coming to the city, according to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing. The project will be about 55,498 square feet and cost $3.2 million to build.

Rivian is an electric vehicle manufacturer that develops and sells electric vehicles and accessories. They offer vehicles such as electric pickup trucks and SUVs. Some of Rivian’s vehicles are known for their off-road capabilities, according to its website.

When it’s done, the facility will include an electric vehicle service shop, vehicle display area, customer area, storage, conferencing and a back of house area for employees.

Rivian has locations across the country, including several in Texas. Construction on the new facility is expected to begin in August and wrap up in November.
