Check out these events in the Austin metro area happening this weekend, June 20-22. Among them are Juneteenth celebrations, the 10th annual Chris Kelley Memorial 5K, and a princess party.

Teddy Bear Clinic and Storytime

Children are invited to bring along their favorite stuffed animal to a teddy bear storytime at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Teddy Bear Clinic led by a pediatrician from Texas Children’s Hospital at 11:30 a.m.Juneteenth Celebration: Rock the Block

Guadalupe River Float

The city of Pflugerville will bring adults 18 and older to the Guadalupe River for a float trip. After the float, participants will eat lunch at a local restaurant before heading back to the Pflugerville Recreation Center.The Diaspora Food Market

Community members can celebrate Juneteenth by tasting a variety of dishes, such as jerk spiced ribs, Caribbean house wings, jerk chicken with chef-made fried rice, Cuban sandwiches and more.Summer Solstice Celebration

Attendees can celebrate the evening with gentle yoga, music featuring hao gongs, didgeridoo, ocean drums, Native American flute and rattles, and sun catcher crafts.


June 21, 6-8 p.m.10th annual Chris Kelley Memorial 5K

The Chris Kelley Foundation, a nonprofit organization recognizing Hutto Police Department Sgt. Chris Kelley, will host its 5K at Brushy Creek Amphitheater in Hutto. This year the 5K will take place in the evening. After the run, the event will have food trucks, vendor booths, live music and children activities.Princess Party

The event at Volente Beach Resort & Waterpark will allow attendees to dress up as their favorite princess and experience a day of princesses, food and live music by Meg Groves as Princess Ariel. Admission includes waterpark access, a food truck meal, a bubble party, limbo and more.Celebration of Native Plants and Pollinators

Nonprofit organization Wild Spirit Wild Places will celebrate Pollinator Week at The Rachouse at Desert Door Distillery with guest speakers, giveaways, hands-on plant activities, live music and more.Juneteenth 4th annual Freedom March and Festival


The Juneteenth festival will feature live music, line dancing, horse rides and a variety of food vendors. The event will pay homage to figures such as Stagecoach Mary, Adam Orgain, Bill Picket and Bass Reeves.
