2. Round Rock moves forward with Hwy. 79 project
Round Rock began the process to collaborate with the Texas Department of Transportation on a project to improve Hwy. 79. City Council unanimously approved a $1.3 million contract with HDR for the preliminary engineering work at its meeting Feb. 27.

4. Round Rock council approves land purchase for next segment of Kenney Fort Boulevard
Round Rock City Council approved the purchase of 3.7 acres of right of way for the next segment of the road in late September. The piece of land—purchased for $500,000 and funded by the Round Rock Transportation and Economic Development Corporation—will make way for Kenney Fort Boulevard Segment 5.

5. Extension to Old Settlers Boulevard underway in Round Rock
The city of Round Rock began work on a project to extend Old Settlers Boulevard from North Red Bud Lane to CR 110 in December. The connection will feature a four-lane divided section with a bridge portion.

6. Chisholm Trail Road traffic pattern changes begin in Round Rock
Between Sam Bass Road and Poker Alley, southbound traffic on Chisholm Trail Road will be detoured. Northbound traffic will continue through the work zone. Drivers will not be able to turn onto Chisholm Trail Road from Sam Bass Road.
