Year One Wellness has opened its doors in North Austin with a new community center designed just for little ones—offering a range of services tailored to infants and their families.

The details

The infant specialty practice features physician and occupational therapy options to enable babies within the first year of life to reach milestones and perform essential functions.

Owner and physical therapist Kristi Hammerle said the clinic offers a unique service not previously available to families in the area.

The clinic supports families through a variety of early challenges infants may face, including:
  • Torticollis (tight neck)
  • Body tension
  • Plagiocephaly (flat head syndrome)
  • Gross and fine motor milestone delay
  • Tethered oral tissues (tongue/lip ties)
  • Oral motor dysfunction
  • Bottle feeding and breastfeeding difficulties
  • Starting solids and picky eating
  • Sensory processing and self regulation
  • And more.
The community clinic also hosts several community-building support groups, Hammerle said, such as baby play and postpartum support groups. Additionally, the center will begin offering a new service for the treatment of mastitis in breastfeeding mothers next month.

Year One Wellness has clinics in Austin and Cedar Park, but also provides in-home sessions across Travis and Williamson Counties, including the cities of Dripping Springs, Austin, Bee Cave, Cedar Park, Leander, Liberty Hill, Georgetown, Pflugerville, Round Rock and Hutto.
