With road closure and construction work currently taking place at several locations across Lakeway, city officials are sharing advice with residents on how to plan ahead and avoid traffic delays.

What’s happening?

Outer lanes on Lohmans Crossing Road near the Lakeway Police Department have been closed for several weeks, according to a city news release shared June 10.

Beginning June 11, the inner lanes will instead be closed, in both directions of traffic, to make way for construction of a new turn lane and modified curbs. Eventually, road paving will occur and a new traffic signal will be installed following these updates.

The project is expected to continue through June, according to the news release.

Also beginning June 11, an existing road closure on Lohmans Spur will move east to between the Lakeway Villas and driveway to Lakeway Town Center. Drivers attempting to access the condos will need to utilize the access road to Lohmans Crossing road during this time, according to the release.

What else?

New traffic flow patterns are currently taking place at the intersection of RM 620 and Lohmans Crossing Road.

After re-striping occurred in June, the far-right lane of RM 620, in front of CVS, is now a right-turn only for southbound traffic.

The city advised residents to continue to drive with caution in this area.

What’s next?

Beginning June 19, Debba Drive is expected to be reduced to one lane as new turn lanes are constructed, with flaggers directing traffic.

The project will take place during daytime hours, and is expected to be complete before the end of the month.
