Owners and developers of the upcoming Travis Club development announced the hiring of Chris Franke as general manager of the 1,500-acre Spicewood club and community April 22.

The background

Franke previously served as the general manager of The Glenbrook Club in Nevada and brings 22 years of experience to the position, according to a news release. His hospitality management career began at Cherry Hills Country Club in Colorado, where he oversaw multiple major golf championships, before he joined Clear Creek Tahoe as assistant general manager.

“Twenty years ago, I made a personal decision in pursuit of a better lifestyle, and that choice has since become a guidepost not only in my life, but in shaping the clubs and communities I’ve had the privilege to serve,” Franke said in the news release.

Travis Club is a product of owners and developers Haas & Haynie and Castle Hill Partners, the latter of which previously oversaw Clear Creek Tahoe. The hiring of Franke marks a reunion between some members of the Castle Hill team and Franke, the news release states.

"We couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome Chris back to our extended family," said Leisha Ehlert, senior vice president at Castle Hill Partners, in the news release. "... Chris’s leadership, attention to detail, and heart for hospitality will shape the next chapter of Travis Club as we bring our vision of Hill Country luxury and community to life."
