4. Round Rock ISD updates phone policy to meet legislative requirements
Following a policy update from the 89th Texas Legislature, Round Rock ISD is making changes to its device policy ahead of the 2025-26 school year.
The district's change is to be in compliance with House Bill 1481, a law prohibiting student use of personal wireless communication devices during the school day. Students will continue to be allowed to use school-issued devices.

6. 16-court Apex Pickleball Club coming soon to Cedar Park
Apex Pickleball Club, which will be an indoor pickleball facility with a full bar and restaurant, is expected to open in Cedar Park at the end of December.
The 49,000-square-foot facility will have 16 indoor pickleball courts and a full bar and restaurant called PickleDilly’s, said Bill Parodi, Founder and CEO of Pickleplex Holdings, LLC., the facility’s parent company.
