A new drop-in art studio opened near the center of the Bell District on June 1.

What they offer

Victoria Park Studio offers artists an opportunity to explore new mediums. The studio teaches courses in wreath-making, ceramic painting and mosaics. The studio offers walk-in hours for people who want to sample different crafts, as well as monthly workshops and private events.

The background

The studio was founded by Ashley Wallis, who decided to pursue her artistic dreams after years of working in corporate America.

“I started Victoria Park Studio as a space where people of all ages could unplug from their screens, connect with others, and tap into their creative side—whether they consider themselves ‘artistic’ or not,” Wallis said. “It’s less about perfection and more about the experience, the laughter and the memories made while creating something with meaning.”

She used her children’s middle names to name her studio, and wants to encourage people of all ages to explore their artistic sides.

“Creativity has no age limit,” Wallis said. “My goal is to make everyone feel welcome and inspired the moment they walk through the door.”

What else?

In addition to walk-ins and classes, Victoria Park hosts special events, including an upcoming Donuts With Dad event for Father’s Day.
