Travis County homeowners will see about $64 added to their property tax bills after commissioners approved a Sept. 16 tax increase to fund county health care services.
The Bastrop Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing at 6 p.m. on Sept. 23 regarding a proposed development at 1005 Pecan St.
The tax rate is the same as what was approved for the previous financial year, but represents an effective 8.8% increase due to new legislation around school funding.
The tax rate set by city officials is slightly lower than FY 2024-25.
Local government agencies must post meeting notices at least three business days in advance of the meeting. The new rules seek to give residents more time to review meeting agendas and participate in local government meetings, lawmakers said.
